Top 7 Reasons a Boudoir Session is Worth it

Boudoir sessions are becoming more and more popular among the mainstream these days but are boudoir photos worth it?

Just 10 short years ago the words “Boudoir Photography” or “Boudoir Photos” were most likely met with a confused face and a head tilt. cChances are though, in 2022 you know someone who did a boudoir shoot for a wedding gift or, celebrated a divorce with one ;)

Doing a boudoir session comes with many, many reasons. Being in the boudoir industry for the last 5 years has taught me a lot of things about the clients “why”. One thing that rings true, time and time again though, is no matter the reason for booking a boudoir session, it's always the biggest gift to yourself. I have had clients who book their boudoir session to give the photos as a gift. I have had clients who book to celebrate weight loss, a promotion at work, a birthday milestone, a healing journey, a baby, the list goes on and on. At the end of the day, a boudoir session is truly for you.

If you’ve heard of boudoir, you’ve probably wondered to yourself “Are boudoir photos worth it?”

If you haven’t heard of boudoir photography, I’ll tell you the short story version.

A boudoir session has evolved into a self-expression experience to celebrate being a unique humanbeing. Boudoir sessions are to feel beautiful, capture your beauty, take a risk and step out of a comfort zone. People are signing up for private, intimate photo sessions to see their beauty through the lens of a professional photographer. A lot of times these photo sessions are done with the client wearing lingerie but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear a cozy sweater or go full nude.

But you still may wonder, is a boudoir session worth it?

If you’ve ever researched professional boudoir photographers, you might have noticed it’s a big investment.

Are boudoir sessions worth the investment?

Let’s say you find a professional and potentially spend 2k on “sexy photos” of yourself. What do you do with them?

You cherish them. You keep them for the rest of your life.

You document this phase of your life in a unique way.

You create art for people to find in your bookcase after you die ;P

The investment can be a shock but like anything big (a vacation out of the country, a stunning wedding dress or a new back patio) you can’t put a price on enhancing your human experience by doing things that speak to you.

If the investment is going towards something that can potentially change your self-view forever,

I’d say it’s a BIG worth it!

I could easily go on and on about why doing a boudoir session is worth it but you’d probably rather hear it from the people who have taken the leap before you.

Zealous Stills has hosted over 500 boudoir sessions to date. Here are some of the testimonies.

“It was unexpected to me that I felt relieved, strong and sexy once I started taking photos. After my shoot I felt confident and excited, mostly because I rarely go out, and this experience is something so completely different from my norm that I felt a high for even several days afterwards. Even now (three weeks post shoot) my confidence has definitely been boosted!”

“After the photo shoot, I came back for my in person reveal after a short lunch. When I walked in and saw one of my photos on the TV as we were going to review them, it took my breath away - I didn't know I could look like that!! Who I felt like on the inside was showing on the outside. I felt like a HOTT SEXY BAD ASS! LOL It was incredible! Go Women! Go Empowerment!”

“Now, I look at my body different then I used to. I look at myself in the mirror more when changing and admire my body. Even if you don't have someone to share the results with, seeing the results yourself will give you a different outlook on your life, body and mind.”

“I feel stronger because of boudoir photography. I think about it often and still carry that moment with me every day.”

“I feel like after exposing my naked body in pictures that it is okay to expose the real me. It does not matter how I appear to other people. It only matters how I appear to myself and I finally appear beautiful to me.”

“I would tell other women to take the leap and fly. Do the boudoir session. Your life will change after you see those photos up on screen and see your outer as well as inner beauty shine.

“I just want to thank Molly for helping me in this journey of finding me again. All I care about is how I see myself and not what others see.”
